Welcome to Snaresbrook Nursery

Welcome to Nursery

Welcome to Nursery. The Nursery team consists of Miss Talbott, Miss Sheppard, Mrs Walker and Miss Wright.  When your child joins our Nursery they will be allocated a keyworker who will help them to settle in and learn the rules and routines.

To ensure that children who stay in Nursery for two years are not studying the same topics twice there are 12 topics one for each of the twelve half terms in a two year cycle.

The Autumn 1 topic is ‘My Favourite Things".  The first half term of Nursery is spent settling the children in. We support the children to establish positive relationships with adults and peers.  We teach them to access the resources and learn how to use them effectively to create independent learning opportunities. The children are supported to develop their communication and language skills and develop their physical, emotional and academic independence.  As part of our topic we spend time learning about each other’s favourite food, toys, colours, animals, activities and books and read a selection of different texts linked to these themes.

This half term our core texts are

The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Eric Carle)

Where’s My Teddy (Jez Alborough)

Lemons Are Not Red (Laura Vaccaro Seeger)

123 To The Zoo (Eric Carle)

My Cat Likes To Hide In Boxes (Eve Sutton)

I like Books (Anthony Brown)
