Welcome to Year 6

Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

Welcome to 6BB and 6RM. In Year 6 there are lots of people who help you with your learning – Mr Batley, Mrs McDermott, Mrs Kuilenberg, Mrs Bastin and Mrs Baynes.

Our curriculum topic in Autumn 1 is "Britain since the 1900’s” This topic will encourage the children to explore how Britain changed during this time and how major events have shaped our lives today. During this topic the children will be looking at a range of texts around this theme. These include “Goodnight Mister Tom.” Our Science is “Classifying Critters.” During this term the children will look at how to classify and identify living things.

Our curriculum topic in Autumn 2 is the changing of British monarchs since the 1900’s. This topic will encourage children to explore British values and how our monarchs play a key role in our society. Our Science is "Staying alive" and is linked closely to the topic theme.
