Attendance

At Snaresbrook Primary we want children to have the best education possible. That is why attendance is very important to us; we want to aim for 100% attendance for every child!

The school day starts promptly at 9AM. There is a soft start to the day from 8.50am when children are expected to enter the classroom and be seated ready for learning at 9.00am. Children who arrive after 9am will be marked late and should come to the school office as they will have a late mark.

If your child is going to be late/ collected early for an appointment (e.g. Doctor's appointment) please tell the office before the day and provide proof of the appointment (if you have it).

If your child is going to be absent please call the school office 0208 989 9975 and leave a message on the option 'Child Absence Line' this will be picked by the school office and noted down. You can also,if you prefer, report your child's absence on Weduc by clicking on the report absence button on the home screen.

Absences immediately before or after a school holiday

If your child is absent before or after a school holiday we must see evidence for the absence.  This may be medical evidence if your child is unwell, or evidence of flight delays or circumstances beyond your control.  We cannot authorise any absences before or after a holiday without this evidence and you risk being issued with a penalty notice.

Morning Playtime

Morning playtime for Year 1  & 2 is from 10:30am - 10:45am

Years 3 - 6 is from 10:45am - 11:00am.

Reception children also have a morning playtime but this is more flexible. Towards the end of the school year the Reception children will join Key Stage 1 children to have set break times.

Lunch Time

Children from Years 3 - 6 have their lunch break from 12:25PM - 1:25PM.

The Reception children and Year 1 & 2 children have their lunch from 12:00PM - 1:00PM.

Drop off & Collection

At the beginning of the school day, parents are encouraged to drop their children at the playground  gates where children can enter the class through the class door. This is to help build resilience and independance. If normal collection arrangements have to be changed (e.g. you are delayed or another person will be picking up your child) please let either the class teacher or the school office know before 3pm. This helps to avoid any confusion or upset for your child.  A password will be requested to ensure the correct adult is collecting your child.

Attendance Policy

Please use the Leave of Absence Request Form below to request for your child to attend essential appointments or other exceptional circumstances.

Please note that requests for holidays during term time will not be authorised.

Getting to school

Walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits to walking; it’s a lot healthier than getting in the car, it improves the safety for other pedestrians and road users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we do have a bike shed where you can park your bike under a shelter so it doesn’t get wet in the rain.
