Governors
The Governing Body is made up of parents, staff, Local Authority and Community representatives. School governors support the school in ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction. They hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils. The governors oversee the financial performance of the school.
The Governing Body meets twice per term, additional meetings and any statutory panels are convened as required. They have a delegation planner in place for key tasks and for statutory policy reviews, and conducts an annual review of its effectiveness. The Governing Body is supported and advised by a professional clerk, the clerk minutes all meetings and the minutes are available on request to the school office.
Governors regularly visit the school and are involved in a range of activities which cover areas such as the school’s finances and staffing, the building and environment, pupil achievement, the curriculum and pupil welfare. Specific governors are linked to particular aspects of school life such as Child Protection and SEND.
The Governing Board is made up of various types of governor. Governors serve for a term of office, shown underneath each Governor, except for the Headteacher, who is always a member of the Governing Board.

For most of my career I have worked as a senior manager in the NHS, which includes serving as a director on the management board of two large London acute trusts has given me a solid grounding in the governance and management of public services. I have lived in Wanstead for over 10 years and have a son at Snaresbrook Primary School. I love the inclusive and positive ethos of the school and look forward to supporting it as it goes from strength to strength.

I chose to become a parent governor at Snaresbrook Primary School as I am keen to support the body in delivering and achieving their key objectives.
I have worked in the Banking and Risk profession for over 15 years, including working with the Big 4, Middle Eastern Investment and Challenger Banks and now FinTech.
I moved to Snaresbrook in 2012 and have two children at the school. I have been impressed with the excellent staff and admire their dedication and professionalism in the challenging environment of the school.
As a governor, I look forward to channelling the skills, knowledge, and experiences that I have acquired from the Banking world, to help improve the school’s key priorities.

I have two children at Snaresbrook, who have been here since pre-school. We were drawn to the school by the warm atmosphere and the focus on community, kindness and well-being.
My professional background is in policy, politics and regulation. I’ve always worked in the not-for-profit sector and have expertise in equality, diversity and inclusion, governance, strategy and communications. I was keen to become a governor to use my experience as a parent and my professional experience to help the school to continue to develop and thrive.
